Suzi DeYoung

Head, Finance Partnerships

Over the past 20+ years, Suzi has leveraged her expertise in finance and operations to drive strategic financial planning and improve financial sustainability in public education. She began her career in corporate finance, holding leadership roles at Archos, On Command Corporation, and Teletech, where she developed deep experience in financial strategy, risk management, and operational efficiency.

Suzi transitioned into public education finance in 2008 when she joined Denver Public Schools as Executive Director of Budget and Academic Finance. She managed a $1.5 billion budget and led financial transformation efforts. She went on to serve as Chief Financial Officer for Brighton School District 27J and later for Adams 12 Five Star Schools, where she secured over $350 million in bond proceeds without increasing taxpayer rates and earned multiple Government Finance Officers Association awards for excellence in financial reporting.

Most recently, Suzi was Chief Financial Officer at KIPP NYC Public Schools, overseeing financial operations for a network of 18 charter schools serving over 8,000 students. At KIPP NYC, she introduced improved revenue forecasting and implemented financial systems to enhance transparency and decision-making.

Suzi holds an MBA from the University of Denver, a Certificate in Education Finance from Georgetown University, and a B.A. in Communications from the University of Iowa. She has also served on ColoTrust and the Colorado Association of School Business Officials boards.
