Michael Good

Director, Finance

Michael Good brings extensive expertise in education finance and operations, driven by a deep commitment to student achievement and equity. His career, beginning with classroom teaching, has evolved to encompass strategic financial and operational positions across public school systems and non-profit education support organizations. Since 2016, when he joined Uncommon Schools on their finance team, Michael has provided analysis and modeling, process and tool improvement, and staff training to organizations with annual operating budgets in excess of $333 million. He has led operations for schools systems in New York and Minnesota and served as a senior financial consultant for five public charter schools in Washington, D.C. and Maryland. His experience includes overseeing multi-regional and multi-campus budget development, managing millions in state and federal grants, and securing substantial financing for campus renovation and facility projects.

Michael holds a B.A. in history and secondary education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Master in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School focusing on public sector finance and education policy. He is also a board member of Project Vision, a Chicago-area non-profit focused on youth development.
